Frequently asked questions

Which spices are available at Vaidikmart?

We currently offer Turmeric (Haldi) Powder 500 g, Red Chilli Powder 1 kg and Dhaniya (Coriander) Powder 500 g.

How should I store spice powders?

Transfer the powder to a clean, dry, airtight container and keep it away from heat, moisture and direct sunlight. Always use a dry spoon. This keeps the colour, aroma and taste fresh for longer.

How can I check if my turmeric powder is pure?

A simple home check: stir half a teaspoon of turmeric into a glass of warm water and leave it. Pure turmeric settles at the bottom and leaves the water lightly yellow, while added colours tend to stay strongly suspended in the water.

How much red chilli powder should I use?

Start with about half a teaspoon for a family-size curry and adjust to taste. For colour with less heat, add it to hot oil or ghee for only a few seconds during tadka.

Can I use dhaniya powder in every dish?

Yes. Dhaniya powder adds a mild, citrusy aroma and thickens gravies. It works well in dals, sabzis, curries, chaats and homemade masala blends.
